Andrea Morgan is an accomplished violinist, recording artist, and educator with a devoted passion for classical music, country, folk, Americana, as well as the heavier sub-genres of metal music such as doom, black metal and other adjacent genres.
Based in Portland, Oregon since 2007, Andrea has built a distinguished reputation as the go-to session violinist in the area for heart rendering string performances and arrangements, extending her reach well beyond North America, working with artists all around the world. When not in the studio or touring with bands and solo artists, she also performs as a freelance musician in regional orchestras. While violin has been her primary instrument since 1999, she has also served roles performing viola, cello, piano/synthesizers and as a lead and backing vocalist.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Portland State University where she cultivated her craft in violin performance, music theory and composition under the primary tutelage of Grammy nominated violinist Adam LaMotte, Ken Selden, Hamilton Cheifetz, Jelena Simonovic Schiff, and Susan Chan. She also holds a Master of Arts in Teaching with an endorsement in PreK-12 Instrumental Music from Western Oregon University graduating with honors. Andrea is a TSPC licensed music educator in the state of Oregon.
Education has held a deeply fulfilling and liberating place in Andrea's life. She first began teaching privately in 2016, serving communities in Oregon such as Portland, Salem, Newberg, Canby, Oregon City, Aurora as well as the Rogue Valley.
